Dr Kathryn Gardner

Research Interests

Much of my earlier work focused predominantly on the psychometric properties of emotional intelligence (EI) measures and how both ability and trait EI relate to borderline personality disorder (BPD) traits. I am also interested in emotional processing more generally, especially emotion perception/identification and dysregulation in individuals with BPD traits. Other interests include mentalisation based therapy for personality disorder, and self-harm and the reasons for this behaviour.
